02 / The project
In the making · Coming soon
A shared curiosity.
A beginning, together.
QXIST is taking shape as an open philosophical and scientific inquiry. We’re bringing questions about the physical universe, conscious experience and human meaning into a shared conversation. Our first stories and interviews are still ahead of us.
The QXIST goal
See more clearly.
Live more consciously.
QXIST connects a wider view of the universe with a closer look at how we live. Our evolving framework draws on cosmology, quantum physics, neuroscience and existentialist philosophy. That inquiry also begins with learning about the biological systems we live within. We want to understand how survival instincts, fear, pleasure, emotion, and conditioning influence our choices, and use that understanding to respond with greater awareness.
Our goal is to examine the assumptions and influences that shape everyday life. That means questioning our own beliefs as carefully as we question authority, and noticing how social pressure, ideology, or manipulation can appeal to our hopes and insecurities.
We encourage honest observation, scientific curiosity, and independent thinking. The direction is growth, adaptability, and a more conscious relationship with existence. Uncertainty can invite deeper understanding without leading to hopelessness.
We want to explore freedom, responsibility and authentic meaning while remaining willing to revise our understanding of the universe and consciousness. The framework is a starting point for investigation, with room for disagreement and discovery.
Explore the four disciplines“The goal is not to escape reality, but to see reality more clearly.”
Conversations in development
Bring the questions
to the people studying them.
We’re developing a series of one-to-one interviews and future podcasts around six perspectives. These are the conversations we want to begin, with guests and dates still to be arranged.
Cosmology & astrophysics
What do we actually know about the beginning and evolution of the universe?
Quantum physics
Does quantum indeterminacy tell us anything about free will—and where would that connection be a leap?
Neuroscience
What evidence connects brain activity and conscious experience?
Philosophy of mind
Can subjective experience be fully explained in physical terms?
Existentialist philosophy
How can people create authentic meaning without a predetermined purpose?
Philosophy of science
Where does evidence end and metaphysical speculation begin?
We want our assumptions tested. Skeptical and sympathetic voices both belong in the conversation. An interview is an opportunity to question and learn, rather than a request to endorse QXIST.

Two people.
A world of questions.
Founded by Besnik Kacija and his nephew, Theron Beguin, QXIST grew from a shared curiosity about existence and human awareness.

Start a conversation
What are you questioning?
We’re taking the first steps toward conversations with people working in cosmology and astrophysics, quantum physics, neuroscience and philosophy. We’re planning one-to-one interviews and podcasts, with a discussion forum envisioned as the project grows.
Some of the most revealing questions come from unexpected places. We welcome anyone whose research, ideas or lived experience can open new doors of perception, challenge familiar assumptions, or offer a different way to think about how the universe operates—and what role, if any, we play within it.
You do not need an academic title to bring a thoughtful perspective. If you’d like to take part, suggest a guest, share a source or help shape these conversations, write to us. We’re building QXIST one conversation at a time.
